Our Story

We Make Cleaning Days the Very Best Days

Local, known, and trusted. For more than 30 years, we've been the cleaning team Montgomery County families invite into their homes — and keep inviting back, week after week.

Rachel Epperly started cleaning professionally in 1989 and learned the business from the bottom up. In July 1994 she and her father opened Maid Brigade's Rockville office on a simple idea: that professional house cleaning should be safer, more consistent, and more caring than anything else in the industry. Her father has since passed away, and Rachel is now the sole owner. More than three decades later, she still owns and operates the Rockville office — and now the Frederick office too — serving the same communities, and many of the same families, ever since.

We've grown, but we haven't scaled away from our roots. We're still locally owned. Our team leaders still train new hires in person, our office managers still pick up the phone, and when you call Maid Brigade, you’ll be talking to your neighbors.

For our customers, we provide cleaner, greener, healthier homes to the communities we serve. We know that cleaner and healthier homes bring peace of mind also. We do this with certified non-toxic green products as our standard, not an upgrade.

National Franchise of the Year (2001 & 2015) — Maid Brigade's top honor, earned twice under Rachel Epperly's ownership.

National Rookie of the Year (1995) — awarded to Rachel Epperly for her first full year after opening the Rockville office in July 1994.

Green cleaning pioneers — Maid Brigade became the first national green-certified house cleaning company in 2007 and in 2019, we upgraded to our famous PUREcleaning process. Our best cleaning ever!
