PUREcleaning® is Maid Brigade's industry-exclusive cleaning and disinfection technology. It turns water, salt, and a small amount of electricity into a hospital-grade cleaner and an EPA-registered disinfectant — with no harsh chemistry.
How it works
Inside our PUREcleaning® generator, a controlled electrical current passes through a simple brine solution (water + table salt). The process produces two distinct, useful solutions:
- A cleaner (high-pH electrolyzed water) — an excellent degreaser, soap, and lifter of organic grime.
- A disinfectant (low-pH electrolyzed water, hypochlorous acid) — EPA-registered, hospital-grade, effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria and viruses.
Your home gets both: a non-toxic cleaner that lifts everyday grime, and a non-toxic disinfectant that kills pathogens on surfaces. Both break down back into plain water over time, leaving no chemical residue behind.
What the chemistry really is
The active ingredient in PUREcleaning® disinfectant is hypochlorous acid (HOCl). It's the same molecule your body's immune cells produce to fight infection. It's used in wound care, eye care, dental offices, food production, and hospital environments. It is safer and less corrosive than chlorine bleach while matching its effectiveness against most pathogens.

Yes. The active solution is food-safe and approved by the EPA for use around children, pets, and allergy-sensitive households. It's chemistry-free in the traditional sense — water, salt, and electricity.
Does PUREcleaning® actually disinfect?
Yes. Electrolyzed water (hypochlorous acid, HOCl) is hospital-grade, EPA-registered, and effective against a broad range of bacteria and viruses including norovirus, influenza, and coronaviruses. It's the same family of chemistry used in hospitals, dental offices, and food-safe facilities.
Does it have a smell?
